Trial Season 2026: what's new

15/04/2026 · Geoffrey George
The 2026 Belgian Trial Championship starts this season with several important changes. Here's everything you need to know. ## Renamed categories All categories have been renamed for 2026. FMB aligned the terminology with international regulations, making it easier for riders competing abroad. Each rider receives their bib with the new colors on-site at the first round, and keeps it throughout the season. ## New color marking Arrow colors have also been modified. A completely new system has been provided to organizers. Don't worry: on the ground, each category has its own color, and zones are perfectly marked by the marshals. ## TRIALFUN: the discovery category Great news for newcomers: the **TRIALFUN** category is open outside competition. Register on-site and freely choose the difficulty of each zone from five levels: Black, Black-Yellow, Yellow, Yellow-Green, Green. No pressure, no ranking — just the pleasure of riding. It's the perfect opportunity to try moto trial without commitment, or for experienced riders to discover a new event in a relaxed atmosphere. ## 2026 Calendar — 10 official rounds Eleven events were initially scheduled, two were cancelled during the season: - **March 22** — Bilstain Trial (opener) — *raced* - **March 29** — Warken Trial — *raced* - **May 17** — Haut Bi Trial (Bertrix) - **June 7** — Lucien Mathy Trial (Wavre) - ~~July 5 — Monthermé Trial (cancelled)~~ - ~~August 15-16 — Trial Classic Spa-Francorchamps (cancelled)~~ - **August 23** — Pittem Trial - **August 30** — Rocq Trial (Feluy) - **October 4** — Genk Trial - **October 18** — Vertus Trial (France) - **November 8** — Bilstain Trial (closer) - **November 15** — 67th Mont Panisel International Trial (Mons) The **Mont Panisel Trial** closes the season as it does every year: 67th edition for this historic event, one of the oldest on the Belgian calendar. ## Easier registrations For 2026, FMB encourages early registration via the [My FMB-BMB](https://fmb-bmb.magelan.be/) portal. No more waiting on-site. Race numbers are assigned for the whole season. ## And team Belgium? At the 2025 Trial des Nations, team Belgium took a fine **4th place**, confirming the level of Belgian trial on the international stage. The country has already won three consecutive world titles thanks to **Eddy Lejeune** (1982, 1983, 1984), an absolute legend. ## Going further - **Official FMB calendar**: [fmb-bmb.be/calendrier-trial](https://www.fmb-bmb.be/calendrier/calendrier-trial/) - **Sporting & technical regulations**: [fmb-bmb.be/reglements-trial](https://www.fmb-bmb.be/reglements/reglements-trial/) - **License request**: [my.fmb-bmb.be](https://fmb-bmb.magelan.be/) - **Results & rankings**: [fmb-bmb.be/resultats-trial](https://www.fmb-bmb.be/resultats/resultats-trial/) Have a great season everyone.
